Q.1. What is MediSavers eMedical Card?
A.1. MediSavers eMedicalCard is a healthcare membership program which consist of
a) Medical protection that offers a high RM1.1 million per illness from only RM119/month.
b) Annual Pathlab health screening eVoucher.
Q.2. Who is eligible for MediSavers Membership Program?
A.2. Anyone accepted by the Company aged from 30 days and up to 70 years old next birthday.
(before the 70th birthday)
Q.3. What illness does MediSavers eMedical card cover?
A.3. MediSavers eMedicalCard covers almost any illness, medical condition or accident
as long as it requires hospitalisation (warded).
However, it does not cover pre-existing illness and is subject to underwriting.

Q.4. How do I enrol for MediSavers Membership Program?
A.4. Just contact me, your servicing membership advisor, I will guide you on how to enroll.
i) If applicant is without any pre-existing illness, enrollment can be made online.
ii) if applicant has pre-existing illness, enrollment is done manually i.e. relevant forms have to be filled in,
signed by applicant and then submitted.

Q.5. Do I need to go for a medical checkup before purchasing the Medisavers eMedical Card?
A.5. No, medical checkup is not required.
However, you have to answer a few health questions truthfully when purchasing MediSavers eMedicalCard.
Q.6. How much do I need to pay for this Program?
A.6. The program fee (premium) is determined by your age. The premium may increase due to health condition and occupation class.
All applications are subject to underwriting.
Program fee can be paid:
a) Monthly installments via Credit Card from participating banks
b) Full Payment via any Visa/Master Credit Card
c) Full payment via Cheque issued to: Pathlab Health Management (M) Sdn Bhd
d) Full Payment via Direct Bank in
e) Monthly Standing Instruction via saving or current accounts with participating banks.

Q.7. What if you do not have Credit Card, Debit Card or Cheque?
A.7. If you do not have Credit Card, Debit Card or Cheque,
we do allow you to get a 3rd party to make the payment authorization on your behalf.
Q.8. Is program fee fixed?
A.8. No, as the following apply:
i) Upon renewal, the program fee will depend on the age.
ii) The Insurance Premium for overall portfolio will subject to price revision every few years
to cater for MALAYSIA MEDICAL INFLATION.
Q.9. Is the cover applicable oversea?
A.9. YES. The arrangement can be made based on the following scenarios:
(i) An Insured Person travelling abroad, for a reason other than for medical treatment,
needs to be confined to a Hospital outside Malaysia as a consequence of a Medical Emergency.
(ii) An Insured Person, upon recommendation of a Physician and has to be transferred to a Hospital outside Malaysia
because the specialised nature of the treatment, aid, information or decision required
can neither be rendered nor furnished nor taken in Malaysia.
Overseas treatment of a disease, sickness or injury which is diagnosed in Malaysia
and non-emergency or chronic conditions where treatment
can reasonably be postponed until returning to Malaysia are excluded.
Q.10. What are Pre-Existing Illnesses?
A.10. Pre-Existing Illnesses shall mean disabilities that the Insured Person has reasonable knowledge of.
An Insured Person may be considered to have reasonable knowledge of a pre-existing condition
where the condition is one for which:
• The Insured Person had received or is receiving treatment;
• Medical advice, diagnosis, care or treatment has been recommended;
• Clear and distinct symptoms are or were evident; or
• Its existence would have been apparent to a reasonable person in the circumstances.
Q.11. Is there a waiting period?
A.11. YES. Eligibility for benefits starts 30 days after the Insured has been included in the Policy,
except for a covered Accident occurring after the effective date of the coverage.
Q.12. Do I need to have a medical examination?
A.12. NO. However, you are required to declare your medical history (if any)
and reports may be required based on the declaration.
Q.13. What’s the procedure for admission to hospital?
A.13. It involves a very simple process!
All you need to do is to call Asia Assistance Network (AAN) number behind your membership card and
verify your policy / I/C number with AAN before admission (deposit may be required).
After verification, AAN will deal with the hospital on the admission.
Q14. Am I required to pay a cash deposit upon admission?
A.14. YES. Most of the hospitals in Malaysia has policy that requires a cash deposit upon admission.
It is refundable upon discharge from hospital after deducting non-coverable items (if any).
Q.15. Do MediSavers have a panel hospital list?
A.15. Yes. Panel List of Hospitals.
Q.16. What hospitalization services are covered by MediSavers?
A.16. MediSavers eMedicalCard covers the following hospitalization procedures:
1) Room & Board for hospital admission or Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
2) Pre- and post-hospitalization consultation
3) Diagnostics and physiotherapy
4) X-ray and MRI scans
5) Outpatient Cancer Treatment
6) Outpatient Kidney Dialysis
7) Treatment and Surgery
8) Prescription drugs (medicine)
9) Ambulance

Q.17. What is the Room and Board limit?
A.17. MediSavers eMedicalCard provides coverage for hospital Room & Board up to RM 250 and RM 400.
Q.18. Do I need to pay first if admitted to hospital?
A.18. If you go to a MediSavers panel hospital, you won't have to pay.
Just present your MediSavers eMedicalCard and we will settle the bill directly with the hospital.
If you go to a non-panel hospital, you need to pay the bill first and then make a claim with MediSavers to get reimbursement.
Note: Some hospitals may require a deposit that you will need to pay on your own first.
The deposit is refundable by the hospital.
Q.19. When can I use the MediSavers eMedical Card?
A.19. You can use the MediSavers eMedicalCard immediately for accidents.
There is a 30-day waiting period for other illness and medical conditions.
Q.20. Can a foreigner enroll in this program?
A.20. YES.
Yes. Based on Local Treatment Clause, if the Insured Person is a non-Malaysian,
the coverage and benefits provided shall be restricted to treatment in Malaysia only.
Q.21. What is the difference between your program with those from other companies?
A.21. We offer a Complete Healthcare Protection Program to all our members with benefits that include:
a) Annual Health Screening for as long as the policy is renewed
b) Hospitalization & Surgical Insurance
c) Personal Accident Insurance
d) Hospital Cash Income
e) High Room & Board limit
f) Over 100 private panel hospitals

Q.22. Will I receive any return or bonus at some point of my membership?
A.22. No. The MediSavers program is a health and medical program.
It has no cash value and therefore will not yield any return or bonus (thus our premiums are lower).
Q.23. What I will receive, if my application is approved?
A.23. You will receive the following items:
a) MediSavers Welcome Pack inclusive of program membership card
b) Pathlab Health Screening Voucher (Not applicable to members aged 30days – 18 years old)
c) Official receipt.
d) Medical Plan Policy sent directly from Insurance company consisting of
your policy jacket and official tax invoice indicating the insurance premium
(Please note that the insurance benefits and premium rate of this Medical Plan is offered exclusively
to the customers of Pathlab group of companies / associates and is not made available in the open market.
This is a direct arrangement between the Insurance companies. and the corporate agent,
